Certified Public Accountant - Andrew T. Kofman
As both a lawyer and Certified Public Accountant, Andrew brings a unique point of view to managing your taxes. He not only “crunches the numbers,” but also analyzes your situation from various vantage points. In fact, when he was at Suffolk University Law School, he concentrated his studies in tax law and was one of only a few students who graduated with a Concentration with Distinction in Taxation.
Andrew provides services to businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, and non-profit organizations. He requests that new clients provide tax returns from the prior three years. With this information, he determines if there were errors, and if the returns should be re-filed. He has helped numerous clients receive refunds and have penalties abated due to errors on past tax returns.
Clients appreciate Andrew’s accessibility and quick responses to assist them in making wise business, financial and tax decisions. Andrew works with clients throughout the year, not just at tax time. His fees are competitive and fair.
Andrew enjoys working with the owners of small to medium-sized businesses. He assists clients with setting up accounting systems that fit their needs and abilities, and consults to determine which business entity fits best- Sole Proprietor, LLC, S Corp, etc. He also continues to assess businesses as they grow, analyzing whether the entity type should change. Andrew also works with individual clients, addressing each unique situation (i.e. children in college, parents living in the home, offices in the home etc.)
A CPA since 1987, Andrew worked for small CPA firms before establishing his firm in 2006. He has a long list of clients who return every year, a testimony to the excellent service and value. Andrew explains taxes in laymen’s terms. He asks many questions to determine which deductions and credits may apply. Throughout the year, he encourages open communication with his clients to assess tax implications and make recommendations. To stay current on tax law changes, Andrew attends numerous educational classes throughout the year.
With an office in Sharon, Massachusetts, Andrew serves clients within Massachusetts and neighboring states. Andrew is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a past member of the National Association of Remodelers, where he served as the organization’s treasurer for nine years. When his sons were in Pop Warner, he volunteered for their team and, of course, he was the treasurer.
